As we've mentioned before, there's no Registry Office west of the Blue Mountains. 

Zip, zilcho, nada. Not on your Nelly.

Weddings at the big-city Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages Offices in NSW cost upwards of $480 (their cheapest fee) depending on date, time and venue. They also office the historic Wollongong Courthouse experience, and for one day only in 2026, a State Library wedding. Optional extras for these services, including styling, florals and photography, cost extra with these services, but can be arranged.  It can become quite costly, depending on what package you choose and your chosen date.

​Courthouse weddings in Dubbo cost around $400 but are limited to a strict time window on certain days and times nominated by the Dubbo Courthouse. In plain terms, you are corralled into a date and time of the Courthouse's choosing, not the day or time you would prefer. And certainly never on a Saturday, Sunday, early morning or evening.

2026 Fees -
NSW Registry Office, Courthouse & State Library Weddings

The Pyrmont Registry Office starts at $480 for weekdays, $595 for Saturdays, and $800 for some selected Saturdays in its cheapest room.

"Lucky Day" 8 August - the prices range from $999 -$1199 at the Pyrmont Registry Office.

The Old Wollongong Courthouse is available on "selected Wednesdays" for $660.

For one day only in 2026, the NSW State Library will be open for wedding bookings to celebrate its 200th anniversary - 10 October. Packages start at $1399.

Regional courthouses are in the vicinity of $400 for the standard five-minute marriage.
