New Year: Super busy and very grateful

Just Wed well and truly bolted out of the starter's gate at new year and is headlong into another year of helping couples celebrate their special days.

January was super-busy, with two weddings in the first 10 days, including one where a Shortening of Time was sought during the end of year closedown period for the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages.

​Thankfully, the team was still operating on-call and were able to assist my couple with an approval for them to marry under the usual calendar-month notice period.

One of my January couples featured in the local newspaper too, which was very exciting. 

I've also responded to a number of enquiries and had obligation-free meetings with people interested in working with me. Not everyone ended up booking with me, and that's fine. It's what happens in this industry, and I take every opportunity to learn from my interactions with prospective clients. 

You may not know this but the celebrant behind Just Wed also performs funerals in and around Dubbo - and no, in case you were thinking it, that side of my business is NOT called Just Dead! I performed six funerals and celebrations of life in January, which was a record for me. Sadly, a lot of people passed away in December/January, including two people on Christmas Day, which was very hard for their families.

I am grateful to be busy, and very mindful that sometimes work comes to me when people are sad and suffering, as much as being happy and joyful and looking to the future. I give thanks for everyone who enters my life through my business, in whatever way.
