No Registry Office in Dubbo...? No worries!

People are still surprised to learn that there is NO REGISTRY OFFICE west of Sydney.  Zip, zilcho, nada. Or, 'bugger all' as my old dad used to say, excuse the French!

Anyone wanting to avail themselves of a quick, simple service like you would have in the NSW Registry Office cannot do so in many regional areas across NSW.

While you can marry in Courthouse weddings in many locations, including Dubbo - which is the only NSW Government option available to many regional couples in areas without Registry Offices - it is certainly not flexible and not that nice.

For instance, in Dubbo, which is the major urban centre in our region, you can't just pick a date and time that suits you to get married in the city's Courthouse, but you have to take what the Courthouse makes available - generally a short window of time on a set day.

Just Wed has also heard anecdotally from several couples who have sought to marry there that they also found the process incredibly difficult post-COVID.

This is how Just Wed came to be, believe it or not. After several couples had difficulty arranging to marry in the Dubbo Courthouse in 2022, we realised there was a niche to fill left by this gaping void in NSW Government-provided marriage services west of Sydney. And we've filled that void! More than 30 couples in central west NSW have married through our service since we started in March 2023.

After raining for days in late November 2023, the weather held off for David and Robyn to Just Elope at the Shoyoen Japanese Gardens. They then took their guests off to the Zoo for a special celebratory lunch.

With Just Wed, you can choose to have a quick, simple legals-only wedding ceremony (Just Wed 'n Go), or a (much nicer!) registry office/courthouse-style alternative ceremony (Just Wed in Ten) at a time and date that suits you and in your chosen location.
